Long Mynd Expeditions

thumb_cardingmillvalleyWith immediate effect, anyone proposing to do day walks, practice or assessed expeditions on the Long Mynd must notify the National Trust at least 2 weeks in advance.

The National Trust must be notified by using a standard form available at http://www.cardingmillvalley.org.uk/?page=57 . This can be sent online and takes no more than 5 minutes to complete.

 There are several reasons why the NT have to be notified;

  •  The NT have been advised that from a legal point of view, they should know which groups are on their land.
  • To monitor the number of groups using the area.

This is a very similar situation to the White Peak so this form can be regarded as the equivalent of the “red form”. Therefore, when you notify us of your expeditions on the Long Mynd, please also let us have a copy of the form sent to the NT.

 There are benefits for you –

 They will email you a FREE PARKING PASS for Cardingmill Valley

 And benefits for the NT –

If your school is a member of the NT, please put this on the form and the NT gets £2.00 per person from the government.
